Dowina Caramel GACE - Limited Run Acoustic

Dowina Guitars, based in Bratislava, Slovakia are a family based business that support sustainability from source. They are a small but friendly team with a passion for making hand crafted guitars. We were very proud to be able to visit the Dowina workshop in late 2019 to meet the team and absorb their company ethos, of which making wood 'shine' is their absolute goal. Dowina's designs are humble and organic, and their method of building the guitar to the wood chosen results in each instrument truly becoming a unique work of art.

The Vintage Series guitars individually crafted, applying a similar production philosophy as for a master violin. A superior tonewood selection – individual graduation of the thickness of the top in specific areas to allow it to flex more near the edges, and hence, gain more of a deep, fundamental tone. Discrete bracing design matched to the top’s characteristics. The tops are individually tuned to basic harmonic tones in an optimal tonal scale range.

The Caramel features the same spec as the Cabernet and is the most advanced guitar of the all-solid Vintage series, with its back and sides made of exotic Indian Rosewood. This is a well-known tone-wood for its balanced acoustic quality, beautiful structure, and full colour. The Caramel is a guitar that fulfills the high expectations of its owner.
