Dowina Silk Road GACE Electro Acoustic Guitar (GA Cutaway)

Dowina Guitars, based in Bratislava, Slovakia are a family based business that support sustainability from source. They are a small but friendly team with a passion for making hand crafted guitars. We were very proud to be able to visit the Dowina workshop in late 2019 to meet the team and absorb their company ethos, of which making wood 'shine' is their absolute goal. Dowina's designs are humble and organic, and their method of building the guitar to the wood chosen results in each instrument truly becoming a unique work of art.

The Master Series are completely handmade and are for those who appreciate a superior guitar sound and master luthier craft work. They are individually created with the application of the same construction philosophy applied to a master violin. 

• Superior tonewood selection – Individual graduation of the thickness of the top in specific areas to allow the top to flex more near the edges, and hence, gain more of a deep, fundamental tone.
• Feature full solid wood bodies with unique back and sides.
• Tops are individually tuned to pitch, and each brace is sculpted and matched to the top’s characteristics.

Each Master series guitar is handmade by one specific Luthier through the entire process - intended for professional players who require the utmost attention to detail, these are jewels for your collection and investment pieces with a rising value.

The Silk Road is a model which refers to historic significance of this area and the trade routes that used to pass along the Danube by the workshop. The Wenge and Granadillo wedge in the middle of the exquisite Flamed Maple body is a bold feature of this model, along with the inlaid precious gem stone on the headstock. This one comes in the Grand Auditorium body shape with a Solid Cedar top, complete with a cutaway and Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend preamp.
