PRE OWNED: Great condition with little to no signs of wear

The New York has a laminate spruce top, laminate maple back and sides, and a maple neck. It features a rosewood fingerboard, tortoise pickguard, rosewood cello style tailpiece, and a gorgeous natural finish. Hardware includes a set of Grover Imperial tuners and a floating humbucker with a pickguard mounted volume control. The overall style of the instrument is reminiscent of the more ornate designs of the legendary John D'Angelico and his protege Jimmy D'Aquisto. Embellishments include stunning block fingerboard  inlays of mother of pearl and abalone, D'Aquisto style headtsock logo, and 7-ply ivoroid/ebonoid body binding.

The New York is largely based on the classic Gibson Johnny Smith model, a longstanding favorite among jazz guitarists for over half a century. Like Gibson's original design, this instrument is designed to retain its acoustic capabilities while simultaneously producing a rich and colorful amplified tone. It performs these duties exceedingly well as the New York sounds great both acoustically and electrically. Players looking to tackle Johnny Smith's legendary chord melody pieces will be pleased to find that the New York's 1 11/16th nut and short, 24 3/5" scale make even the most cumbersome chord shapes feel effortless.
