Description

Philip Mason Guitars No. 12 – Rosewood / Adirondack Dreadnought

Handmade in Switzerland

The Philip Mason No. 12 is a finely crafted square shoulder dreadnought built with premium, responsibly sourced tonewoods and traditional luthiery precision. Featuring an Adirondack spruce (Picea rubens) soundboard and East Indian rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia) back and sides, this guitar delivers powerful headroom, strong projection, and a clear, articulate low end. Internally, it is braced with FSC torrefied Swiss Alpine spruce, enhancing responsiveness and tonal maturity.

The neck is carved from FSC American mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) and paired with an FSC African ebony (Diospyros crassiflora) fingerboard and bridge. Elegant details include flamed maple binding, Swiss flamed maple heel cap and tail graft, abalone fretboard dots, and bone bridge pins with abalone inlay. A 2-way truss rod, Waverley nickel butterbean tuners, and bone nut and saddle complete this refined build.

Specifications

  • Scale Length: 25.4” (645 mm)

  • Nut Width: 44.5 mm

  • String Spacing at Saddle: 54.8 mm

  • Fretboard Radius: 14”

  • Strings: Martin MA150T Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 2.0 (80/20 Bronze Medium)

A beautifully balanced, heirloom-quality instrument built with sustainability and tonal excellence at its core.
