The saddle is one of the most impactful components in an acoustic guitar's tone chain — it's the last contact point before string vibration transfers into the bridge and soundboard. Upgrading from plastic to bone, ebony, brass, or Graphtec can noticeably improve sustain, clarity, and string-to-string balance.
