Description
The NU-X Optima Air (NAI-5) is a dual-footswitch acoustic guitar simulator and preamp pedal, designed for electric guitar players who want convincing acoustic tones live or in the studio. It combines an IR loader with 15 built-in acoustic guitar profiles, a full preamp section with 3-band EQ and Gain, a one-knob Reverb effect, and a Send/Return effects loop — all with XLR DI, headphone, and aux connectivity.
A unique profile capture function lets you create your own acoustic guitar IR files by capturing the sound of a real acoustic guitar, which can then be loaded and saved as custom presets. Nine preset slots are available, managed via the two footswitches in Preset Mode.
IR Footswitch – Manual Mode: engage/disengage the selected IR (acoustic simulation on/off). Preset Mode: Bank Down.
AMP Footswitch – Manual Mode: activates the preamp section (Gain and 3-band EQ). Preset Mode: Bank Up.
Controls: Reverb (Dry/Wet & Decay, or off at 0), IR Level, Select/Save (push to save), Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble.
